Farid Khalilov appointed AVF Secretary General

This past Thursday, the President of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF), Mr Javid Gurbanov and the AVF Board of Administration appointed Mr Farid Khalilov as the new Secretary General of the organisation.

Mr Khalilov is a familiar face for Azerbaijani Volleyball fans, as the President of the Azerrail BAKU Volleyball Club between 2019 and 2021, and as such, he has already played a leading role in supporting the further development of Volleyball in the Caucasus country.

Former Secretary General, Mr Jalil Jafarov has been a Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation since the last AVF General Assembly held earlier this year. Moreover, Mr Jafarov has been a member of the CEV Board of Administration since October 2020 – thus becoming the first Azerbaijani official to hold such a role and function.
