Jurmala, Latvia, July 29, 2018. On Sunday a very successful 2018 CEV U22 European Beach Volleyball Championship held in the nice seaside resort of Jurmala came to an end with Latvian home stars Mihails Samoilovs/Kristaps Smits being crowned as champions in the men’s tournament after seizing a 2-0 victory vs. Alejandro Huerta and Javier Huerta from Spain. In the women’s tournament, Nadezda Makroguzova and Svetlana Kholomina (RUS) grabbed the Gold, having dominated the final match vs. Anastasija Kravcenoka and Tina Graudina (LAT), winning it in straight sets. As a result, Makroguzova and Kholomina were able to retain the crown they had seized last year in Baden, Austria.

Thursday was a beautiful day for Beach Volleyball – as many as 48 matches were played during Day 1 of the 2018 CEV U22 Beach Volleyball European Championship. 24 games in the men’s tournament and 24 in the women’s one brought many positive emotions to the fans at Jurmala Beach and set the tone for an exciting tournament due to continue later this weekend.

Kharkiv, Ukraine, July 20, 2018. The 2018 edition of the EEVZA U18 Beach Volleyball Championship is taking place this weekend in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. It is the third straight year that the city of Kharkiv hosts an international Beach Volleyball competition, after Gorkyy Park previously welcomed a stop of the EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour and a CEV Satellite in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Nonetheless, it is the very first time that the EEVZA U18 Beach Volleyball Championship takes place on Ukrainian soil.

Pärnu, Estonia, July 16, 2018. Russia’s Andrey Bolgov/Vladislav Ermilov triumphed at the EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour event held in Pärnu with a 2-1 (17-21, 21-19, 15-12) victory over home stars Kusti Nõlvak and Mart Tiisaar of Estonia.

Lille, France, July 8, 2018. Russia ended France’s brilliant run throughout the season Sunday night in Lille, shutting out their opponents in the final, silencing the 10,000-strong partisan crowd and claiming the historic gold medal of the inaugural Men’s FIVB Volleyball Nations League.
