Baku, Azerbaijan, August 4, 2017. It is with deep sadness that the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF) inform the Volleyball family of the untimely passing of a prominent Volleyball figure, the renowned coach Aleksandr Chervyakov, who died on Thursday, August 3, 2017, shortly before turning 60.

Young teams ready to fight for honours at EEVZA U18 Beach Volleyball Championships

Vilnius, Lithuania, August 4, 2017. The 2017 EEVZA U18 Beach Volleyball Championships will feature as many as 33 young teams from Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine, who will be competing in Vilnius from Friday, August 4 to Sunday, August 6. There are 17 men’s and 16 women’s teams set to battle for the top honours in the Lithuanian capital and the Vice President of the Lithuanian Volleyball Federation, Marius Vasiliauskas is pleased to welcome to Vilnius so many young, promising players.

Baku, Azerbaijan, August 3, 2017. The organisers of the 2017 women’s EuroVolley have announced the start of the ticket sale for matches of Pool D – featuring the national teams of Serbia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Czech Republic – due to take place in Ganja/Göygöl from September 22 to 24. Tickets are available here and will provide fans with an opportunity to follow matches from the ‘group of death’ starring the silver medal winners – Serbia – and fourth-placed team – the Netherlands – from last year’s Rio 2016 Olympics.

Baku, Azerbaijan, August 2, 2017. The President of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation Javid Gurbanov recently had a meeting with members of the Organising Committee of the 2017 women’s EuroVolley as the countdown continues to the historic tournament that Azerbaijan and their neighbours from Georgia will co-host in late September this year.

Beach Volleyball tournament highlights City Day celebrations in Brest

Brest, Belarus, August 2, 2017. As many as 31 teams participated in a Beach Volleyball tournament held in the Belarusian city of Brest on July 29-30 in conjunction with the City Day. Teams competed in the semi-professional, amateur and women’s divisions. Unfortunately, the organisers could not count on the participation of Aliaksandr Dziadkou and Aliaksandr Kavalenka, the top Beach Volleyball team in Belarus, who on that same weekend competed at a World Tour stop in Espinho, Portugal.
