Ukraine keep perfect record at EEVZA U17 Women’s Championship

Tbilisi, Georgia, November 25, 2017. The 2017 EEVZA U17 Women’s Volleyball Championship is reaching its climax following another round of matches contested on Saturday in the Georgian capital.

 

 

Latvia and Armenia opened the programme of the next-to-last competition day with Latvia rallying to a comprehensive 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-11, 25-7). As for Ukraine, they extended their winning run in the tournament as they took one more victory from their matchup with Lithuania (3-0; 25-12, 25-11, 25-17). 

Armenia took to the court again later on Saturday and after losing the first and second sets of their match with Estonia at a canter (8-25, 7-25), they stepped up their efforts in the third – where Estonia nevertheless emerged victorious 26-24. 

The game featuring Latvia and hosts Georgia followed next – with Latvia upsetting the local fans as they took their second victory of the day (25-22, 26-24, 25-16). Latvia will finish their campaign in the tournament with their last match with Estonia on Sunday morning.
