Tbilisi, Georgia, November 26, 2017. Ukraine celebrated with the gold medals from the 2017 edition of the EEVZA U17 Women’s Volleyball Championship after completing a clean sweep of the matches they contested in Tbilisi.

Latvia and Estonia opened the programme of the last competition day in the Georgian capital and Latvia’s 3-1 victory (27-29, 25-16, 28-26, 25-20) secured the silver medal for the young players from Riga.

Later in the day, Georgia and Lithuania contributed to one of the most dramatic matches of the tournament; Lithuania stormed to a 2-0 lead but Georgia came back to secure a 3-2 victory (17-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-15, 15-12) and finish the tournament on a high note. This, however, was not enough for the home side to claim a spot on the podium – with Georgia finishing the competition in fourth place.

Ukraine further cemented their top position in the standing of the tournament as they comfortably beat Armenia 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-13) in the last match of the day.
