Team Belarus start training camp ahead of EuroVolley
Minsk, Belarus, July 10, 2019. A short vacation has already ended for the players of the Belarusian women’s national team as they have just started a training camp before the much-anticipated final stage of EuroVolley. Now they are in Brest, where they have intensive training sessions and work on their physical conditioning as well.
On July 19, the team will go to Poland to participate in a friendly international tournament. After that, they are planning to go to Greece for friendly matches with the Greek national team and at the end of the training camp Team Belarus will participate in another tournament due to take place in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.
The team’s roster is not that different from the one Belarus used for this year’s European Golden League where they claimed a historic bronze medal. Outside hitter Hanna Hryshkevich will not help this time, however, as she is still struggling with health issues. Alina Egorova and Alina Ilyuta from Pribuzhe BREST as well as the experienced Aksana Kavalchuk from Minchanka MINSK have joined the team coached by Piotr Khilko.
Belarus finished seventh at the last EuroVolley in 2017, the best result in their history. In late August, they will start their journey in Bratislava playing there the national teams of Russia, Germany, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.
