Yangzhou, China, October 14, 2018. Konstantin Semenov and Ilya Leshukov won their second FIVB World Tour tournament together after a thrilling three set battle at the Gold medal match against their compatriots Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy.

The Volleyball power house Russia saw six of their teams compete at the 4-Star event in Yangzhou, including Maksim Hudyakov/Ruslan Bykanov, who lost to Taras Myskiv/Valeriy Samoday at the country quota. The two teams Semenov/Leshukov and Krasilnikov/Stoyanovskiy a came into the Gold Medal match undefeated, although  Konstantin s and Ilya s road to the finals was slightly easier as their opponents Sam Pedlow/Sam Schachter from Canada dropped out of the semi-final due to an injury.

The final proved to be an exciting one as Semenov and Leshukov bounced back after an unsuccessful first set and managed to claim the match and the tournament with 2-1 (14-21, 21-19, 15-13). The second place and the silver medals are a great achievement for Krasilnikov/Stoyanovskiy as the team has only recently joined forces towards Tokyo 2020 and this was their first International tournament together, whilst their oponents have recorded 10 International caps, including a win at the Mersin 3-star in Turkey ealier this year.
