Russia and Belarus triumph at final stop of EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour
Batumi, Georgia, September 8, 2019. The last stop of this year’s EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour ended on Sunday in Batumi, with many fans stopping by the venue on the shores of the Black Sea to enjoy some exciting, dramatic matches. Russia’s Olga Motrich/Elizaveta Terenteva and Aliaksandr Dziadkou/Pavel Piatrushka of Belarus were the ones standing on top of the podium.
The final matches were quite one-sided, with Motrich/Terenteva easily dispatching Ukraine’s Tetiana Lazarenko/Anhelina Khmil 21-18, 21-11 in the women’s gold medal match. Earlier on Sunday, Lazarenko and Khmil had claimed an intriguing semi-final match with Viktoryia Siakretava and Lizaveta Chabai of Belarus (21-19, 11-21, 15-5).
Dziadkou/Piatrushka, winners earlier this week of another EEVZA event in Yerevan, Armenia, were just as dominant in the men’s final against Russia’s Aleksandr Kramarenko and Dmitrii Veretiuk (21-19, 21-16).
Andrei Mitrafanau/Ilya Abramenka (BLR) and Elena Sviridova/Ekaterina Katser (RUS) were the recipient of the bronze medals.
