Dinamo MOSCOW too much to stand for LODZ
Lodz, Poland, December 21, 2017. On Thursday night, Grot Budowlani LODZ lost their first match in Pool D of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women to Russia’s Dinamo MOSCOW (0-3; 18-25, 20-25, 23-25).
The leader of the home team was once again Kaja Grobelna, who last season received as many as 12 times the award for the Most Valuable Player of a single match in the Polish national league. The opposite hitter scored 15 points but that was not enough to beat the mighty team from the Russian capital.
“We are happy to start our journey in the Champions League and to play against big teams like Dinamo MOSCOW. We will take this lesson very seriously to push as much as we can every time we take to the court. I congratulate Dinamo on their win,” home coach Błażej Krzyształowicz said.
Grot Budowlani LODZ fans stand united in the opinion that they can walk proudly with their heads held up high. In the third set, the hosts were very close to emerging victorious but Dinamo MOSCOW eventually did not give such a chance to the home side.
Grot Budowlani LODZ will play their next match versus titleholders VakifBank ISTANBUL in Turkey after the holiday season.
