CEV School Project inspires more children to play Volleyball in Armenia

Monday 29th of October 2018

Yerevan, Armenia, October 29, 2018. The school named after Stepan Zoryan, where many famous and high-level Armenian Volleyball players took their first step in the sport, played host on October 25 to another action organised by the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) as they work hard on implementing the CEV School Project in the Caucasus country.

This school has delivered Volleyball classes since the ‘80s and has hosted many of the Armenian national Volleyball championships as well. As a result, the VFA decided to host a Volleyball festival at this very same place with participation of more than 100 children and their physical education teachers.

Members of the Armenian national team – Ashot Balabekyan and Khachatur Asmaryan – and their coach Grigori Ambaryan joined in as well. On their side, the pupils showed much enthusiasm and expressed the wish to start playing Volleyball in the near future. The VFA provided sports equipment as well, so that further activities can take place at the school and children have the opportunity to get familiar with the ABC of the game.
