Lviv, Ukraine, November 7, 2018. The Lviv-based Volleyball club Barkom-Kazhany started the 32nd finals of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men with a victory. The Ukrainian club hosted LAUSANNE UC from Switzerland over whom they claimed a 3-2 (25-16, 25-21, 22-25, 18-25, 16-14) victory. In-between-seasons Barkom-Kazhany LVIV substantially renewed their roster. According to the head coach of the club Ugis Krastins, the team members did their best in order to prove themselves during the match.

One should single out the performance of Yevhenii Kisiliuk, Yurii Semeniuk, Horden Brova and Oleksandr Hladenko - they were the best on the Ukrainian side of the net in attack and block, while Adrien Prevel stood out for the visitors from LAUSANNE UC.

LAUSANNE UC are the current Swiss champions, so it is only obvious the team came to Lviv with the highest expectations, however, they could only collect two set wins.
