Estonia’s authorities vow to support historic EuroVolley 2021 Men

Tallinn, Estonia, June 23, 2019. CEV President Aleksandar Boričić had earlier this week a series of high-profile meetings in Estonia, which eventually resulted in Friday’s announcement that the Baltic country will be one of four nations to co-host the 2021 edition of CEV EuroVolley Men. Estonia and more specifically their capital city, Tallinn, will be playing host to one of the four pools that will get the continental showpiece tournament underway.

Pool G matches of the 2018-2020 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup continued on Sunday at the Stella Maris beach in sunny Umag, revealing the next two travellers to the second round of the competition - Lithuania and Romania for women and second placed Estonia for men.

Batumi serves up four more teams for Continental Cup Phase 2

Batumi, Georgia, June 23, 2019.  Pool F for Men and Women of Phase 1 of the 2018-2020 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup concluded on the coastline of the Black Sea with four teams taking a step closer to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.  Following the weekends matches, Belgium, Slovakia for men and Norway and Turkey for women qualified to the next phase set for May 2020.

European teams claim three medals at U21 Beach Volleyball Worlds

Udon Thani, Thailand, June 23, 2019. Teams from Europe travel home with two silver medals and one bronze from the 2019 edition of the FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Championship held in Thailand. Italy’s Jakob Windisch/Alberto Di Silvestre (pictured) and Russia’s Mariia Bocharova/Maria Voronina lost their respective gold medal matches to teams from Brazil, as Spain claimed an all-European bronze medal match with Germany in the women’s competition.

Turkey win their maiden CEV Volleyball European Golden League 2019 gold

Tallinn, Estonia, June 22, 2019.  Turkey are the new winners of the European Golden League. They beat Belarus in an emphatic 3-0 to secure their first ever title in #EuroLeagueM. Turkish setter Arslan Ekşi̇ received the award for the Most Valuable Player of the Final Four held in Tallinn. The Turkish captain led his troops to victory in all of their group stage and Finals matches. In the bronze medal match, the Netherlands grabbed the opportunity for an immediate revenge after yesterday s tough loss against Belarus. The Oranges recovered quickly and made it count against Estonia, whom they beat in three sets. Turkey and Belarus will now contest the FIVB Challenger Cup in early July in Slovenia - where a ticket to the 2020 edition of the elite FIVB Volleyball Nations League will be at stake.
