Luxembourg, February 15, 2019. In less than six months, the CEV EuroBeachVolley 2019 will be taking place in Moscow, with the event running from August 5 to 11 at the iconic Luzhniki sports complex in the Russian metropolis. In an effort to promote the continental showpiece in the best way, the CEV have launched today an event website, which will grow and include more info as we get closer to the start of the championship that will be crowning the 2019 ‘Queens and Kings of the Beach’.

Bakuriani, Georgia, February 15, 2019. The third stop of the CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour 2019 started on Friday in Bakuriani, Georgia’s most popular ski resort. The teams due to compete later this weekend have all found their way to Bakuriani and snow fell on Friday to provide perfect conditions for the tournament. It is the second straight year that a European Tour event takes place in Bakuriani and the organisers have worked hard for the successful delivery of the tournament, with matches due to be taking place under floodlights as well.

All pool winners known, three quarterfinal spots still vacant

Luxembourg, February 14, 2019.  After the last four games of the fifth leg in the pool stage of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men were played on Thursday, all five pool winners are now known. Trefl GDANSK won the all-Polish clash with PGE Skra BELCHATOW to make sure of a first-place finish in Pool D and a historic qualification among the best eight teams of Europe. They join the company of Russia’s Zenit KAZAN and Zenit SAINT PETERSBURG and Italy’s Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA and Sir Colussi Sicoma PERUGIA, all of who are also unreachable on top of their pool standings and already look forward to the quarterfinals. The last leg of the pool stage to be played on February 27 will determine the three best-ranked pool runners-up to fill in the remaining three quarterfinal vacancies.

Luxembourg, February 14, 2019.  Russia’s Zenit KAZAN and Turkey’s Halkbank ANKARA claimed four-set away victories over Germany’s United Volleys FRANKFURT and Belgium’s Knack ROESELARE, respectively, on Thursday to reaffirm their advantage in  Pool A of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men. Zenit had already secured their spot in the quarterfinals, but made sure to extend their winning streak in the pool to five matches. Halkbank cemented themselves in the second position of the standings, but whether or not they advance to the quarters as one of the three best runners-up is out of their hands, since they currently stand fourth among the contenders.

Luxembourg, February 14, 2019. Trefl GDANSK secured the first place in the final standings in Pool D and a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men after emerging victorious from the all-Polish clash with PGE Skra BELCHATOW with a narrow five-set win at home on Thursday. This is the first time in the club’s history the team from Gdansk advance among the best eight teams in Europe, improving on their top 12 result in the 2015-2016 season. On Wednesday, Germany’s BERLIN Recycling Volleys performed an escape act in Belgium as they were faced with a match point for Greenyard MAASEIK in the third set at 24-23, but did not give up, pulling off an incredible three-set comeback to beat Greenyard for the second time in the pool. While Trefl now stand unreachable at the top with one leg to go, each of the remaining three teams is on a 2-3 win-loss record with a distant shot at making the quarters as pool runners-up.
