Big match between Galatasaray and Dinamo to highlight another exciting CLVolleyW night

Luxembourg, February 20, 2018. The pool stage of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women resumes on Tuesday with three matches and much at stake since teams are fighting for one of six much-coveted spots to compete in the Playoffs of Europe’s elite competition. Titleholders VakifBank ISTANBUL will be vying for their fifth victory in as many matches when playing Grot Budowlani LODZ in Poland. Galatasaray SK ISTANBUL and Dinamo MOSCOW will contest another exciting match in Pool D as these sides fight for progression to the next round. Vizura RUMA will be hoping to use the home-court advantage to claim their second victory in as many matches with Bulgaria’s national champions Maritza PLOVDIV in Pool C.

Armenia host highly successful U15 Volleyball competition in Yerevan

Yerevan, Armenia, February 19, 2018. A youth Volleyball tournament named after Sergey Arakchyan took place in Yerevan from February 15 to 18 with participation of as many as 11 teams from the Armenian capital city and other cities across the Caucasus country. The competition lasted for three days and featured a total 150 players under the age of 15.

Italian and Russian gold at Roccaraso Tour Stop

Roccaraso, Italy, February 18, 2018.  With both genders in action on Sunday, the stage was set for a great day on the mountain at Roccaraso in Italy.  While the worst of the weather held off until after play had finished, there was not the sunshine that had been present previously.  That did not dampen the spirits of the organiser, the players or the passers by though, with the Italian supporters thrilled to witness their side of Parenzan/Ferrazzo put together a string of excellent performances, resulting in them taking the gold medals against the winners of the previous Tour Stop in Erciyes.  The men s tournament, on the other hand, concluded with an all Russian final showing the very highest level of Snow Volleyball.  After losing to Ruslan Bykanov/Maksim Hudyakov in Round 4, the second seeds of Ruslan Daianov/Taras Myskiv put together a strong performance in the final to win in four sets.

Riga, Latvia, February 17, 2018. The annual meeting of the EEVZA Beach Volleyball Committee took place on Saturday in Riga, with representatives from Azerbaijan, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in attendance together with EEVZA President Vladimir Patkin and EEVZA Secretary General Inara Brokane. CEV and EEVZA Vice-President, Mr Maris Pekalis, who is also a Vice-President of the Latvian Volleyball Federation, joined the meeting as well, together with LVF Secretary General, Mr Edgars Zaiženijs.
