Novosibirsk, Russia, June 19, 2018. On Monday, a large number of high-ranking officials attended the first stone ceremony for the construction of a Volleyball centre in Novosibirsk – where the elite Volleyball club Lokomotiv will find their new ‘home’.

Croatia triumph as first ever Silver EuroLeagueM winner

Skopje, FYR of Macedonia, June 15, 2018.  Croatia triumphed as the first ever winner of the CEV Volleyball Silver European League - Men. Defeating Belarus in the gold medal match in four sets, the Croatians deserved the trophy of the inaugural event and it was handed to them by CEV President Aleksandar Boričić during the closing ceremony. Croatia’s opposite Leo Andric was nominated Most Valuable Player of the competition. As a result, Croatia will contest the 2019 edition of the Golden European League, thus replacing the lowest ranked team from the 2018 edition of that competition.

Luxembourg, June 6, 2018.  Having already qualified for the Final Four of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Silver European League - Women, Estonia and Albania finished off their successful pool stage campaigns with straight-set victories at home. Austria lost one set at Israel, but still won Pool B. Final Four hosts Sweden suffered a five-set loss at Switzerland. The medals will be distributed in Nyköping on June 16 and 17.

Luxembourg, June 7, 2018. After six rounds of pool play, the 2018 edition of the CEV Volleyball European League will be reaching its climax next week with as many as four Final Four tournaments across as many venues. Volleyball fans can now look forward to some exciting fixtures following the Drawing of Lots for the semis held on Thursday morning at the CEV headquarters in Luxembourg. The events in Karlovy Vary, Budapest, Skopje and Nyköping will crown the eventual winners of the Golden and Silver tiers – but there is even more at stake, including two spots in the inaugural FIVB Challenger Cup for those contesting the Golden Finals in Karlovy Vary and Budapest.

Russia and Sweden win gold at CEV Continental Cup, Poland and England join European delegation at Youth Olympics

Baden, Austria, June 10, 2018. The CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Finals in Baden welcomed teams from 23 nations who passed through a qualification process among 41 competitors, showing how participation in Beach Volleyball at the youth level has increased in Europe. On Sunday, Poland and England joined Russia, Norway, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden and Czech Republic at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires after they claimed the 5th place in Baden. Russia s rising stars Bocharova/Voronina finished the entire competition without losing a single set, with Italy and Spain completing the podium. In the men s tournament, Sweden claimed the final victory, while The Netherlands and Czech Republic took second and third place on the podium respectively.
