Moscow, Russia, August 11, 2018. Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Janis Smedins had to dig deep and find their very best form to beat Russia’s Oleg Stoyanovskiy and Igor Velichko and make it through the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Moscow 4-Star tournament semi-finals on Saturday.

Moscow, Russia, August 8, 2018. Alexandra Moiseeva and Ekaterina Syrtseva earned local bragging rights when they knocked fellow Russians Ekaterina Birlova and Evgenia Ukolova out of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Moscow 4-Star tournament on Wednesday.

Russia and Switzerland triumph at 1-Star event in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, Slovenia, August 5, 2018. On Sunday night, Russia’s Valeriy Samoday and Taras Myskiv upset the sell-out crowd in attendance at Congress Square as they defeated home stars Jan Pokeršnik and Nejc Zemljak in the men’s gold medal match of the 1-Star/Satellite event held in the Slovenian capital. Youngsters Esmée Böbner and Zoé Vergé-Dépré from Switzerland claimed the gold medal in the women’s competition.

Inspiring Beach Volleyball coaching workshop held in Jurmala

Jurmala, Latvia, July 30, 2018. Next to the 2018 edition of the CEV U22 Beach Volleyball European Championship, the city of Jurmala played host this past weekend to a Beach Volleyball coaching clinic as well. It was the third such course organised by the CEV after previous workshops held in Brno (CZE) and Baden (AUT) in conjunction with the 2016 U18 and 2017 U22 European Championships, respectively. A large number of coaches attending #EuroBeachVolleyU22 in Latvia’s most popular seaside resort as well as from National Federations with no teams participating in the tournament attended the course with lectures given by Martin Plessl and Menzo Tanis.
